For Perfectionism, People Pleasing, and Burnout in Ontario, Canada
Being the strong one can feel like a heavy burden.
You’ve always been the one people relied on. The parentified child, the sibling who carried responsibility, the friend everyone leaned on. You’ve learned to keep it together on the outside, even when you’re struggling inside. Deep down, you’re exhausted from the perfectionism, the people-pleasing, the pressure to always achieve, care, and be in control.
You second-guess yourself when you try to set boundaries. You feel selfish when you need rest. You keep striving for more, but burnout still lingers, and you wonder if your worth will ever be separate from what you do for others.
✓ you can rest without guilt or shame.
✓ boundaries can exist without cutting ties.
✓ you’re allowed to put yourself first without disappointing everyone else.
✓ you can explore interests and foster hobbies.
✓ life can feel lighter, more authentic, and truly your own.
You’d like to know if…
You don’t have to carry the weight of holding it all together.
At Larô Therapy, we help adults, especially Filipino children of immigrants, navigate the weight of family expectations, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. Together, we’ll explore how childhood shaped the way you see yourself and your relationships.
Therapy is a space where you no longer have to be the strong one. Here, you can:
release old patterns of perfectionism and people-pleasing
set boundaries without guilt
find relief from burnout and exhaustion
reconnect with your needs, values, and dreams
The goal is not only to ease stress but to help you feel free to live authentically and no longer defined by the pressure to hold everything together.
Meet the Therapist
Hi, I'm Kim, and I work with adults navigating perfectionism, people-pleasing, and the lasting impact of childhood trauma.
My approach combines:
-
Learning to notice self-critical thoughts without being ruled by them, and taking small steps toward what really matters to you.
-
Exploring and rewriting stories like “I must always be strong” or “my worth is in what I do,” so you can reclaim your own voice and identity.
-
Gently processing unresolved experiences from the past that still shape how you feel and relate today, helping you respond with more ease and self-kindness.
How it Works
Step 1
When you're ready, you can schedule either an Intake Session or a Mutual Fit Call, and we can explore whether working together would be a suitable fit.
Step 2
If we agree to work together, we can set aside a particular time slot once or twice every week that would be exclusive for you.
Step 3
We’ll have regular 50-minute sessions at the time we both agreed upon and monitor your progress continuously.
