Meet Elda Almario
Registered Psychotherapist | Clinical Supervisor
Founder and Clinical Director
You deserve a sounding board for your deepest thoughts and most complex feelings. I’m glad you’re here.
I’m Elda, a psychotherapist based in Ontario. I work with curious, critical, and complex kids, youth, and adults - who perhaps like you - are tired of feeling alone in their thoughts and are ready to see where getting support takes them.
Maybe you’ve been feeling like you(or your child) don’t fit in a world that dislikes being different. Maybe you’ve been wanting to unpack your lived experiences such as immigration, gender transition, or being your parents’ child.
Maybe you’ve been wanting to have a better relationship with your multi-faceted identities such as your career, cultural background, or diagnosis. Well, you’re in the right place.
As a first-generation Filipino immigrant and a sibling to my Autistic brother, I get what it's like to feel like I don’t belong or that I always had to live up to society’s standards to prove my worth. Let’s team up in creating the path towards your self-discovery and healing.
Heal so you can have a better relationship with yourself and others.
Therapy with me is NOT ‘one size fits all’ - it’s highly individualized for you. Alongside my lived experience and extensive training in various therapeutic modalities, it is most informed by your unique characteristics. We’ll get to know you better, unearth your story, and connect the dots. We’ll get curious about your struggles and unpack why they're particularly challenging and hurting you. We’ll explore what works and doesn’t work for you. We’ll build on your strengths and perhaps foster a kinder inner voice. We’ll envision what it’s like to feel good about who you are and hopefully live that too.

A Little Bit More About Me
My interest in mental health began as a sibling to my Autistic brother. Not only did I have a front-row seat to behaviours that didn’t fit within societal expectations, those behaviours took all the time, energy, and attention from my parents at that time. It gave me a deeper sense of compassion and a unique perspective of living in a household with this experience.
I believe that people partially seeing themselves in me makes it easier for them to put their guards down and be vulnerable. I am often told I have a calming presence that makes people feel safe. And it is in this safe container that I hold, that my clients see themselves grow.
I value human connections, so I spend a lot of time nurturing relationships, people-watching, sitting with myself and engaging in my inner world. One day, I want to live in a camper and travel; immerse in and be in awe by the beauty of the world and its people - which I get to do now in the therapy space.
I love spending time with nature by hiking and camping. I once ran a full marathon (42.195km!) and completed a splint triathlon.
